Picayune, PRC split games on Friday

Carriere- The Pearl River Central Lady Blue Devils moved their record to 16-6 overall, 3-1 in Region with a 28-17 win over Picayune in Carriere before standing room only crowd.

Payton Lee scored 11 points and snatched 7 rebounds and Breyanna Bernard added 8 points and 11 rebounds. The win all but secures the 2nd seed in the upcoming playoffs for the Lady Blue Devils.

Deniyah Freeman led Picayune, now 8-14,1-3, with 11 points.

The Picayune Maroon Tide boys continued to click all cylinders as they jump out early on the Blue Devils and coasted to a 60-34 win.

Kobe Jones and Sergio Williams each had 16 points for Picayune and Marvun Arnold added 10 points for Picayune.

The Maroon Tide, now 16-9 and 4-0 on the season, will host Hattiesburg on Tuesday in a game that will most likely decide the Region’s top seed for the upcoming playoffs.

PRC, now 4-16 overall and 0-4 in region, was led by Tyaon Terrell with 11 points and Kelton Seal with 9 points.
