Supervisors accept bids for paving and fence
During Monday's meeting of the Pearl River County Board of Supervisors, the board awarded work for the paving of three roads and a fence around a walking trail.
County Engineer Les Dungan presented a bid to the Board of Supervisors for paving of three roads (Ceasar, Burgetown, Liberty) for a total of $756,209.50 to be awarded to Huey P. Stockstill, LLC.

Dungan presents bid tabulation to County Administrator Adrain Lumpkin (left) and Board President and District 5 Supervisor Sandy Kane Smith.
The bid originally included Sam Smith and Savannah Millard Road, but those roads will now be performed in-house by the county. Dungan stated that he met with County Administrator Adrain Lumpkin and County Road Manager Charlie Schielder and they determined the county could perform the work on those two roads at a cost savings for the county.
The board awarded the fencing for the Salem Walking Trail to Southern Exteriors Fence Company in the amount of $7,849.00.
