Maroon Tide smothers D'Iberville 41-6 in opener

Picayune-- While everyone else started their 2019 football season last week, the Picayune Maroon Tide had to sit and wait. The wait was worth it for the Maroon Tide. Picayune used a smothering defense and balanced offense in dominating D’Iberville 41-6 at Lee-Triplett Stadium.

Picayune scored on their first possession with a 11 play 72 yard drive with the touchdown coming on a 12 yard pass from Jakail Myers to Jalen Hall with 5:03 on the clock. Austin Samples kicked the point after.

After a three and out for the Warriors, Picayune got its second score on a 54 yard touchdown pass from Myers to Hall with 2:21 left in the first quarter. The extra point was no good and the Maroon Tide lead 13-0.
