City of Picayune swears in new Public Safety Director

During Monday's meeting of the Picayune City Council, Fred G. Macdonald, III, was sworn in as the new Public Safety Director. Mr. Macdonald took the oath of office surrounded by his family and wife, Gayle.


According to the mission statement provided by the City, the Department of Public Safety was established and exists to provide the most competent, well trained, well equipped personnel possible to protect the citizens of Picayune, it’s guests, and their property.



Mayor Jim Luke called Fred Macdonald, “A legend in these parts in law enforcement and throughout the Southeastern United States, and one of the top trainers in the country and we're blessed to have his services and be working with our outstanding Police Chief Joe Quave and Pat Weaver Fire Chief. I’m looking forward to the future for this team.”
