Traffic stop leads to illegal narcotics arrest of Pearl River County man

Pearl River County Sheriff David Allison reported that on Saturday, August 8, 2020,

Investigators with Narcotic’s Unit made contact with Michael H. Jenkins, age 46, of 7768 B. Hwy 43, North, Poplarville during a traffic stop at the corner of the intersection of Hwy 43 and Hwy 26.

Sheriff Allison said Jenkins was found to be in possession of a distribution amount of

Methamphetamine and placed under arrest. After Jenkins was taken into custody,


Investigators received and executed a search warrant at Jenkins’ residence. During the search of the residence,


Investigators located a trafficking amount of methamphetamine, digital scales, and plastic bags (commonly used in the distribution of illegal narcotics) according to Sheriff Allison. Jenkins was found to also have a stolen firearm at his residence.

Jenkins was transported to the Pearl River County Jail where he was booked and incarcerated for Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
